Make it Colourful Final Challenge - OUT OF FOCUS!

Good evening,

I'm here tonight with my last Make it Colourful Inspiration Challenge Post :( as you may or may not have read on the challenge blog Zoe has decided to stop the challenges and wanted the last one to be a beauty so she hit us with the 'Out of Focus' Challenge phew, way to go out lol.

So here is my interpretation of the challenge using 'Hummingbird' and 'Blossoming Branch'

To achieve to out of focus look I did a couple of things, firstly I inserted the Blossoming Branch digi into a word document 5 times, rotating and repositioning then grouping 4 of them together, going into artistic effects then artistic effects options, format picture then adjusted the sharpness to 70%, then inserted the 'Hummingbird' and printed. I coloured the 'blurry' branches very lightly and did the background pale blue B000 then removed some of the ink with the colourless marker to add to the effect.

Colored with Copic Markers and Polychromos Pencils - Blossoming Branches - E70, 71, 74, V0000, 00, 01, 04. Hummingbird - Beak - W2, 4, 6, 8. Feathers - BV20, 23, 25, 00. B24, 28, BG11, 13, 15. C1, 2. Violet 138, Sky Blue 146, Phthalo Blue 110, Cobalt Green 156 and Clear Wink of Stella.

Really hoping this inspires you to enter the final Make it Colourful Challenge.

Bye for now

Gardener's Card

Hello,

I'm sharing a card today I have made for my step Dad, as I coloured the image I found myself thinking of him and how much he loves gardening so I'll be sending this one to him just because he is such a good man that I love dearly.

As you can see I used a LOT of markers for this image and a couple of polychromos pencils. The style of this card went through many changes from straight out CAS to an easel card then finally after all that colouring I decided to chop it into three and create this fancy fold screen card and I'm very happy with it :)

The Garden Bench stamp was a delight to colour.

Bye for now

Ferris Wheel Fun!

Hey there, I'm sharing my version of the Animated Turning Ferris Wheel from Make it Crafty, it was sometimes challenging but mostly fun to build and decorate this fabulous off the page project. The feeling of satisfaction when turning the handle the first time and watching the little carriages go around made it all worth while.
I chose some shabby looking papers as I wanted my Ferris Wheel to look old and a little run down, so with some distress paint, ink and a distressing tool I think I managed to achieve that, what do you think?

I made a few booboo's along the way especially when hand cutting the papers used to decorated the base and the carriages, as you can see in the photo below I cut slits in the paper where they showed on the outside, whoops luckily I was going for the distressed look. I also didn't check that the 'woodgrain' on the paper was going in the right direction for the tops of the carriages, which may have been an issue if I was decorating the Ferris Wheel in a clean and straight way.

If you have a cutting machine that uses SVG files to cut all the paper out you will have this project completed in no time, I don't have one of those cutting machines so I traced all the parts and hand cut them which took me awhile but I really enjoyed it and am super keen to build another one one day.

I recommend you all visit the Make it Crafty shop and check out the video Zoe has made of the Ferris Wheel going around, it will take you back to your childhood.
The kit comes with all the pieces and comprehensive instructions.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my Ferris Wheel, I hope you like it.
