I coloured 'Rose' using Copic's and popped her on a Stitched Circle Die from By DIEzvne then stamped the sentiment form the new 'Elegant Valentine' sentiment stamp. I then used some patterned paper, ribbon and roses from my stash to put the card together.

Hydrangea - Dove Art Studio

Hello lovely people, how was your Christmas? Ours was lovely and quiet just the way I like it :)

Today I have coloured one of Jennifer Dove's gorgeous rubber stamps Hydrangea  and placed it on a Stitched Circle Die from By Diezyne, then chose some white card stock and a couple more dies from C.C. CuttersButterfly Border and Mushroom Border you can get all of these products and much much more from C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps. I decided to keep it all white except the Hydrangea image as I wanted it to be the star of the card and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

I hope you like it :) I have a few photo's to show the process of colouring this image as it took me ages to do with a few hiccups that I was able to save along the way. I coloured this image with Copic's.

I used YG61, YG63, YG67 & G28 for the leaves, then laid down B60 on all the petals.

At this stage I had also used B41, V01, B63, BV02.

Then some BV04 to start creating depth.

This is where I started doubting that what I was doing would work, I added BV25 for shadows and found it just made the image look 'liney' so i had to blend out the lines.

I used BV23 to blend the lines out somewhat and then took on the rest of the image.

With each image I was going back over each petal with every colour, I'm so glad it turned out ok because it took a long time to do it lol.

Not so lucky last Christmas Card.

Have you ever coloured an image that you are pretty happy with, but just thought it needed something else? Well that's what happened with this image Phoebe Christmas Wish and if I had left it alone it would have been fine, but no I had to fiddle lol. Anyway in the end it turned out ok, I have learnt a lesson and remembered one of the saying my Mum says often 'Leave well enough alone' haha.

This is the end result

IMG_1063

but this is where it went wrong

IMG_1064

What was I thinking Bright Yellow Dots!!!!! lol and when you think it couldn't get any worse..

IMG_1065

It did!! And just as I was about to throw it out I thought I'd try one more thing and that was to cover the hideous yellow with black, add some snow using the new rubber stamp 'Falling Snow', cut it into an oval put it on a card and Done!! It's not perfect but I think its a pretty good save.

It's Christmas Eve here in Australia only 5 hours till the big man in red pops in and this little elf still has lots of gift wrapping to do, So I will wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year from Australia :)

Runaway Heart - Karleigh Sue Digi's

November New Release!

Hello Crafters,

Today I have coloured up one of the November New Release Digi's from Karleigh Sue Digi's her name is Runaway Heart and she is the first entry in my new colouring journal yay! I have been thinking about creating a colouring journal for awhile and I chose today to start. Being the practical person I am I like to have a use for every image I colour but at times some of these colouring's just get put in piles waiting to go on a card for someone special, so I thought instead of putting all these beautiful images in piles I would create this journal with the image and corresponding information until the time comes for them to go onto a card or other project. I hope you like this idea.

What do you think??

To check out the rest of the new releases click Here

Who remembers threatening to runaway from home at some stage? My 3 girls have tried to runaway from home at least once, all the way to the front fence lol. I think this image will one day adorn a few scrapbooking pages in my house :)

Speed Colouring - 15 minutes!

Make it Colourful Challenge #15,

Speed Colouring!

Hello :)
Today I bring you a step by step tutorial of my 15 minute colouring. Those who know me know I am so slow at colouring so to be asked to colour an image in 15 minutes was quite challenging, so I chose a simple image 'Little Christmas Tree'. I coloured the image in 14.5 minutes!! So I thought I would see how long it then took to put this image on a card, 4 minutes choosing the paper and 4 minutes putting it together. So all up 22.5 minutes to make a basic yet pretty Christmas card that is so much nicer then those ones you can buy at the cheap shops, and your recipients will appreciate the fact that's it is hand made with love <3 So here's how I did it.
Printed the image, chose the markers and set started the timer

Go!

2 3 1413884086565_Screenshots (2)

So what I have done is lay down the base colour YG03, that took 1:11 minutes.

4 5 1413886210910_Screenshots (2)

I then used YG63 to 'flick' in some dimension, 49 seconds.

6 7 1413948606618_Screenshots (3)

next I 'flicked' some YG67 to add more depth, 30 seconds.

8 9 1413949869403_Screenshots (2)

Quickly back over with YG03 to blend colours, 10 seconds.

10 11 1413951210100_Screenshots (2)

Using Y23 I coloured the baubles and the star leaving the highlights white, 1:02 minutes.

12 13 1413958950447_Screenshots (2)

Then I have used Y26 to start getting the shadow on the baubles, star & tinsel, 1:30 minutes.

14 15 1413966608040_Screenshots (2)

Next I used Y28 to give depth and the gold look to the Baubles, Star & tinsel, 1:16 minutes.

16 19 1413967672952_Screenshots (2)

Now for the 'pot' I have coloured the base with E25, 40 seconds.

18 19 1413969066495_Screenshots (2)

Then I used E27 to create a shadow, 42 seconds.

E29 was next to add dimension, 1:00 minute.

22 23 1414040953043_Screenshots (2)

Using a gold spica pen I made the tree 'sparkle' unfortunately the photo's failed to show the sparkle :( I also used a white gel pen to intensify the white highlights on the baubles. Then I used W1 to put a shadow under the tree to ground it. I then 'Fluffed' around here and there to finish the tree off, I also spent some time with the colourless blender to erase some of the little bits of ink that jumped outside of the lines, 6 minutes. But it didn't end there........ wait there is more :)I had so much fun quickly colouring the Little Christmas Tree I decided to do three more!

24

And then I put them on cards!! 1.5 hours later I had 4 Christmas Cards done YAY!

25

I hope you enjoyed my very long step by step tutorial and you made it all the way down to here :)
Andrea xx
