I coloured 'Rose' using Copic's and popped her on a Stitched Circle Die from By DIEzvne then stamped the sentiment form the new 'Elegant Valentine' sentiment stamp. I then used some patterned paper, ribbon and roses from my stash to put the card together.

Hydrangea - Dove Art Studio

Hello lovely people, how was your Christmas? Ours was lovely and quiet just the way I like it :)

Today I have coloured one of Jennifer Dove's gorgeous rubber stamps Hydrangea  and placed it on a Stitched Circle Die from By Diezyne, then chose some white card stock and a couple more dies from C.C. CuttersButterfly Border and Mushroom Border you can get all of these products and much much more from C.C. Designs Rubber Stamps. I decided to keep it all white except the Hydrangea image as I wanted it to be the star of the card and I'm very happy with how it turned out.

I hope you like it :) I have a few photo's to show the process of colouring this image as it took me ages to do with a few hiccups that I was able to save along the way. I coloured this image with Copic's.

I used YG61, YG63, YG67 & G28 for the leaves, then laid down B60 on all the petals.

At this stage I had also used B41, V01, B63, BV02.

Then some BV04 to start creating depth.

This is where I started doubting that what I was doing would work, I added BV25 for shadows and found it just made the image look 'liney' so i had to blend out the lines.

I used BV23 to blend the lines out somewhat and then took on the rest of the image.

With each image I was going back over each petal with every colour, I'm so glad it turned out ok because it took a long time to do it lol.

Not so lucky last Christmas Card.

Have you ever coloured an image that you are pretty happy with, but just thought it needed something else? Well that's what happened with this image Phoebe Christmas Wish and if I had left it alone it would have been fine, but no I had to fiddle lol. Anyway in the end it turned out ok, I have learnt a lesson and remembered one of the saying my Mum says often 'Leave well enough alone' haha.

This is the end result

but this is where it went wrong

IMG_1064

What was I thinking Bright Yellow Dots!!!!! lol and when you think it couldn't get any worse..

IMG_1065

It did!! And just as I was about to throw it out I thought I'd try one more thing and that was to cover the hideous yellow with black, add some snow using the new rubber stamp 'Falling Snow', cut it into an oval put it on a card and Done!! It's not perfect but I think its a pretty good save.

It's Christmas Eve here in Australia only 5 hours till the big man in red pops in and this little elf still has lots of gift wrapping to do, So I will wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year from Australia :)

Teachers Thank you Card.

Well I needed a teachers card for my daughters year 5/6 teacher as it is her last year in Primary School and the last year for our family at the School after 15 years, I wanted it to be special and humorous at the same time. This teacher has taught all of my girls, he started at our small rural school the same year as we did and we have shared many goods times with lots of laughs, so when I saw this image I decided it was perfect for him. Crazy 4U is from Doodle Dragon Designs found at C.C. Designs
