December Challenge @Make it Colourful

Hi all,

Here is my inspiration card for the December challenge over at 'Make it Colourful' . It was time to pull up my big girl pants for this one, but don't let that put you off give it a go you might be very surprised at the results :)

I used yellow, green and pink pigment ink and yellow, green and pink chalks to achieve this result.

I also did another two images whilst practicing for this challenge.

Ayres Rock Aurora Australis_result_result

I used Copic Markers for this one using the colourless blended to take away the sky colour then added in some yellow, green and pink markers.

FullSizeRender (5)_result_result

With this one I also used Copic markers in a wavy pattern attempting to blend the different colours.

I hope you are inspired to give this challenge a go :)

Elvette - Santa's List.

Good Evening friends :)

Tonight I am sharing another little Christmas Elf from Make it Crafty this time it's Elvette with Santa's List. I thought I would try to do a darker skin tone with Elvette this time and I'm quite pleased with the result. I printed her too big for a card so she has a new home in my colouring journal.

Elvette- Santa- List .._result_result

Surprisingly colouring the paper scroll is what I found the trickiest and something I need to practice some more,

I wasn't sure what kind of background to do for her, then Zoe suggested I put her on a roof with a night sky so I have attempted to colour 'slate roof tiles', a brick chimney and a night sky I hope you can see that that is what it is lol.

Thanks for stopping by

Make it Colourful October Challenge!

Come and join the FUN!! Make it Colourful challenge #26

Kili Tingatinga Art

Hello friends,
Today I bring you a very special project which I am so proud to have played a small part in. The poster I have coloured is a line art based on the work of Mzuganu from Dar es Salaam Tanzania, Kili Tingatinga Art have newly released 'Kili Kolours' a range of adult and children's colouring A3 Posters and Card Packs and for this release I was asked to colour one of these amazing works of art, I only hope I have done it justice :)

'On the Other Side of the Fence'
The original art work can be found HERE

I spent so many happy hours colouring this beauty that I thought it only fitting to frame it and display it on my entry wall so everyone who visits can see it.

I used Copic Markers and Polychromos Pencils and as you can imagine there was a few to many to list, sorry.

To visit their Facebook Page click HERE

Here is some information about Kili Tingatinga Art

Kili Tingatinga Art founder Yael Maree has seen first-hand the devastation wrought by poverty during her travels to third-world countries, including Tanzania in 2009. Yael's time in the region impacted her deeply, but rather than return to Australia and live life as per usual, she decided to create a tangible fair-trade business that would provide financial independence and a sense of achievement for Tingatinga artist.
Tingatinga artist are highly skilled craftsmen and women who are passionate about their art and take great pride in their work. With Kili Tingatinga Art placing their works on the global stage, these exceptionally talented artists ae finding the recognition they deserve and the financial independence they need.
Through the sales of their art work over the last two years we have done just that, but it never feels like we do enough, and if you have ever encountered the real face of poverty you will understand why we say this.
Early next year Yael hopes to be able to establish a scholarship program where with funds from sales we will be able to send a selected Tingatinga child to school and help them to receive the education they deserve and in order to do that we need to expand and grow and take the Tingatinga range to the next level, and so with this new product release Yael hopes to do just that with the beautiful new range of colouring posters.

Creepy Shades of Black

Shades of Black is this months challenge at both Make it Colourful and here in the CAS section, this is my take on the theme :)

Shades of Black Challenge 2_result

Shades of Black Challenge_result

I chose to do two images from the 'Halloween' section of the Make it Crafty Store.

When I saw the challenge was 'Shades of Black' my first thought was the dark side having been watching the television series 'Criminal Minds' at the time and my second thought was to use monochromatic colours so I have included both.

For Halloween Zombie I used Copic Markers Cool Grey's C1, 3, 5, 7 & 9. I started with C1 covering the image then gradually built up the colours to create the depth and shadows.

With Buttons I also used Copic Markers, this time using the Neutral Grey's N1, 3, 5, 7 & 9. Using the same procedure of starting with the lightest colour N1 and building up the shades and adding some texture with the dots in some places.

I hope to see everyone having a go this months with your take on 'Shades of Grey'.

Till next time

Andrea xx
