I needed a break from Christmas Cards so I made this fun Birthday Card for no one in particular, although I thought I would add it to the Make it Colourful Competition hard challenge - muscle definition, but is three cards in one challenge too much?? I have loved learning how to do this and find I can't colour a being that has definition without applying some, whereas before I added some shadow and was happy with that lol Oh these challenges are wonderful :)

Hello, when I checked out the Make it Crafty facebook page today I noticed Zoe had put up a very special post from The Squirrel and The Fox Blog asking crafters to join them in there challenge with the theme 'Use Violet' to support their DT member Mags B and daughter Sacha who are currently fighting Hodgkin's Lymphoma so I decided the least I could do was make a card and 'Use Violet' so here it is.

Here's a card I made today for a good friends birthday, I used Gumnut Curly Top from Make it Crafty http://www.makeitcrafty.com/aussie-outback-sheila-digi-stamp-clone.html

I coloured her with Copics.

 

Here are a few progressive pic's

 

 

 

 

 

I'm pretty happy with her although I did her freckles to dark ;)

 

Copic Colours Used Were

E0000, E000, E50, E51, E53 & E93 for the skin (not my usual choice)

W3 & W6 for the Gumnuts,

BG93, YG63, YG67 for the Gum leaves,

E40, E41, E42, & E43 for the Hair,

Y15 & RV29 for the Gumnut flower part of the dress,

R24, R27, R46 & R89 for the main part of the dress

and W6, W3 7 W1 for the shading.

Hello again, I decided I would enter this pic into the latest Make it Colourful Challenge http://www.makeitcolourful.com/challenges/challenge-3-skin-muscle-definition I'm going to enter this into both the easy and the hard challenge as I think it cover both criteria's. The easy challenge asks for different skin colours and this is definitely different. I used Cool Greys for the skin C0,C1,C2,C4 & C7. The hard challenge calls for muscle definition and this guy sure has that :)

 

 

This was so much fun to colour, wish me luck for the comp :)

Hi, I was asked today to do a tutorial on spotlights, having never done a tutorial before I was a bit concerned but thought oh well I'll give it a go. Please forgive me it is very photo heavy. So here it is.

 

1st Picture is of the 'Studio Set' from Make it Crafty

2nd,3rd,4th,5th & 6th Picture's- Working out the angle of the spotlight. I used a metal ruler and a grey lead pencil to lightly draw it in.

 

7th Picture - Then I used a 2 inch circle shape to trace in the 'SPOT'.

 

8th & 9th Pictures - using an eraser to clean up the image, then coloured the entire image with my lightest colour C0.

10th Picture - I used C1 around the spotlight, then used the eraser again to remove most of the pencil marks.

 

11th, 12th, 13th & 14th Pictures - Adding darker colours to outer spotlight area, C2,C4,C5 & C6.

Then I went over the whole image with C0.

 

15th Picture - I darkened some areas with N6 to get a bit more depth then added 50 Shades of Sexy from Redonkadoodles https://www.redonkadoodles.com/Digital-Stamps/digital-stamp-fifty-shades-of-sexy

 

 

Well there it is my first tutorial hope it's ok.

Happy Birthday to me! It's my birthday today and I have had a fabulous day and to top it off I made a Christmas Card. Being in my Craft room makes me HAPPY so I can't think of a better way to finish a great day spent with family and friends :)

Hello again, I'm practicing for the latest Make it Colourful Challenge http://www.makeitcolourful.com/challenges/challenge-3-skin-muscle-definition I've coloured this little cutie from Make it Crafty http://www.makeitcrafty.com/aussie-outback-sheila-digi-stamp-clone.html Gumnut Curly Top. I have tried using different colours for her skin and have tried to add some muscle tone as well. I used E11, E13, E15 and E17.

 

I love how these challenges put me out of my comfort zone and teach me new techniques. I'll keep practicing as I don't think this one is quite ready. Thanks for visiting xx.
